The Franciscan Matric Project was started in 1986 by the late Fr. Stan Brennan, a Franciscan Friar, in response to requests from parents on the East Rand. The school is situated at St Anthony’s Education Centre in Reiger Park, Boksburg. The school operates under the auspices of the Catholic Diocese of Johannesburg and is guided by the Christian Ethos of the Centre.

PAYMENT METHODS FOR SCHOOL FEES
Payments only to be made after registration
In order to eliminate the danger of having cash on the school premises, fees have to be deposited directly into the school account at any Standard Bank. You must state student SURNAME, INITIALS and the 7 digit STUDENT NUMBER.

Your child will be issued with a deposit slip before the end of each month for monthly payments.
Please bear in mind transport costs to and from St. Anthony’s Education Centre . Please do not register if you cannot afford the fees and the transport costs.
2. REGISTRATION
2.1 Registration begins on the 1st of November 2023 until the 8th of December 2023 and reopens on the 5th of January 2024 and continue until classes are full. The original year end school report is required for Grade 10 and Grade 11. The original statement of symbols is required for those registering for Grade 12. An original ID or birth certificate for the student . You will be required to make a photo copy of the documents to leave at the school.
2.2 Once you have registered and provided the necessary documents the deposit of R3 600 must be deposited into Standard Bank using one of the payment methods stated above.
2.3 Immigrant learners must have the necessary documents e.g. Study Permit in order to register.
2.4 All learners will be required to submit 2 reams of TYPEK photocopy paper on the first day of school.
3. CODE OF CONDUCT
A condition of registration is that both the parents and the student sign a copy of the School Rules and the Code of Conduct. Compliance to school Rules and Code of Conduct is compulsory and no transgressions will be tolerated.
4. ATTENDANCE
This project caters for FULL-
When a learner is absent from school he/she must produce a doctor’s note on the day he/she returns to school to explain the absence.
5. TESTS.
The programme of assessments is according to Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) policy.Internal exams are written by Grades 10 and 11 in June and November. Grade 12 learners write internal exams in June and external Prelim exams in September and GDE external final exams in November.
MID YEAR AND YEAR Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners for application to Higher Education institutions, learners should therefore take these exams very seriously.

6. LIFE ORIENTATION
Life Orientation is a compulsory subject. Life Orientation involves a holistic approach to the study of self in relation to others and society. Life Orientation is concerned with all aspects of the growth and development of a student including social, intellectual, spiritual, mental and physical growth.
Life Orientation aims to produce learners who are prepared for the challenges and responsibilities of life and able to seize life’s opportunities.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION TASKS (PET) forms an important component of Life Orientation assessment so it is compulsory for ALL learners to participate in the PET lessons.
7. SUBJECT REQUIREMENTS
MATHS/MATHS LITERACY
All students in all grades study either Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy. It is compulsory for all learners to have a CASIO FX82ES, CASIO FX82ES+ or CASIO FX82ZA+ Calculator and a set of mathematical instruments.
8. HOMEWORK
Homework is set every day in every class. You must be prepared to spend a lot of time doing homework. It is compulsory to complete all homework tasks. EVERY LEARNER is issued with a homework diary at the beginning of the year and we request that parents check on the use of the diary and compliance with the homework tasks which have been set.
